ATTENTION NERDS: Free to a good home
Aug. 17th, 2011 07:52 pmI'm reclaiming my study, and while the kittens currently think it's a BRILLIANT obstacle course I do want to clear out all the crap. This means I am on the verge of taking down to the tip:
- one CD player/radio thing
- two speakers that go with it. No, I don't know what kind they are. They are black and cuboid and connect with a wire that is stripped of insulation both ends and clips into the back of the CD player. They are not the ones that came with it.
- one cheap as chips Advent wireless printer/scanner that doesn't work. I don't know why.
- one HP inkjet printer, also cheap as chips, that does work but not with anything above XP (have not tried Vista though).
- associated cables for both of these
- one tiny TV I had at university with a built in VHS player and a little aerial that sits in the back. No, really.
- one region hacked DVD player that doesn't work. There is however a Blackadder IV DVD in it and anyone who can get it out gets beer and cookies.
- one pair of heated hair straighteners that don't stay straight.
There may also be:
- one Packard Bell desktop (specs if anyone can tell me what they want to know and where I find it). Matching monitor (flat screen) and cabled keyboard and mouse, power leads etc.
This one is dependent on whether I can find a place for it so that we have a spare desktop, which is doubtful. Also you can't have it until I am 500% sure that I have everything I want transferred to at least one and preferably two backups.
I don't for a second imagine that anyone wants any of these to USE them. They're ancient and/or slower than hell and/or broken as listed. But my mind rebels at throwing stuff away without seeing if anyone wants to rip them open and use bits of them to build other Stuff with.
Let me know if you do. And seriously, beer if you can get my Blackadder DVD out without smashing it.
