Crowdsourcing Oxonmoot
Aug. 17th, 2014 04:03 pmI hate doing this, but I'm going to because I'm a little bit desperate. A while back I decided against going to Oxonmoot this year because I couldn't afford it. This decision was made in the height of a really bad period of health - the worst few weeks I've had for a long time. It was a bad decision, but nothing else I could do - I'm only at LonCon on the charity of a friend.
However, the decision not to try was wrong. I've been chewing this over for a while now and finally asked someone today whether she thought offering offerings to try to raise money to get there was acceptable. I'm a proud person and I hate to ask for help and even more hate to come across as the scrounger, but she kindly said that there are enough people who love me and would want to help to make it worth my while trying. In an ideal world I'd be there for the full weekend but in an ideal world I wouldn't be crippled and unemployed so I will see what I can do. I wouldn't ask this for any other con, but Oxonmoot - Oxonmoot is family.
So up for grabs are ficlets (my fandoms are on my sticky post), poems, lyric prayers, small embroidery, knitting or crochet works, or if none of that appeals I can offer you excellent hugs. I guess post a comment if you'd be willing to help? Comments are screened so nobody else will see but you shouldn't need an LJ account to post - only make sure I have a means of contacting you apart from by mobile phone?
There's not much time between now and Oxonmoot if anyone requests anything I can't guarantee to get it done before then! my aim will be to have everything polished off and provided by the end of October.
Thanks xxx
