Wrench away! I wanted to leave scope enough that you could sort of make it possibly not Sherlock's fault if you squinted, because I so rarely write anything without a happy ending. And there are so many interpretations of all the versions of the myths. The ending was rather deliberately based on Outlandish Knight but then John couldn't go home and have a chat with a parrot (although I did try to fit one in for a few minutes) so I went with what felt natural.
Thank you very much. I sort of felt like I was cheating by not writing my own story. I'm glad it's worked!
