This really does work, you know. Will Turner makes a perfect tempter/confidant figure and it's good to see Watson taking control of his life and his choices.
I love the way you don't downplay just how important Mary was to Watson, it's a real choice, not just a kneejerk "bros before hoes". (And I'm sure that doesn't get referenced in canon fic very often. ;-D)
