That is a marvellous discipline, but it tends not to be how I work.
It is absolutely 'to each his/her own' in this! Whatever works best for you as an author should be how you go about it.
To a degree, fuck social contracts - if I'm not having fun, or seeing value in what I'm doing, then I don't think I'm going to waste my time continuing writing unless I'm being paid for it.
